Tropical Storm Season Update... Lingering Effects from 2008 Season

 
June 1st typically marks the start of Hurricane Season, but an upper level cyclonic circulation that formed in the Gulf of Mexico on the 20th of May has the potential to become a sub-tropical depression similar to Andrea in 2007.  However, it's the lingering effects of the 2008 tropical storm season that are wreaking havoc in parts of Illinois and Indiana.

Monitoring Upper Midwest Snow Pack

There is a high risk of flooding in the Red River basin and the northern Missouri Valley basin, and a moderate to high risk of flooding in the upper Mississippi Valley basin (including the Minnesota river). A wet, snowy March could push the threat in these areas to an even more critical level.
