Sounds like we will get a break and be able to cut beans Sat or Sun. I talk to my combine... I told it yesterday what an ice-cycle was. I think it may get to see one first hand!

Life is good!

conditions---as things might dry enough--looks like
no way today--maybe tomorrow--talking about crops,

It has been raining constantly here since Monday. Not a downpour all the time...but constant drizzle...2/10 every 12 hours....It's fricking wet...I don't think we'll be able to even think about getting across some ground till Monday...and they're calling for rain on Tuesday....not much of a harvest window of opportunity.

I drove to Shelbyville, IL yesterday and there is water standing everywhere..about 70 miles north of here.

I did hire a new driver today to run my grain cart....You can she she is anxious to get on and start her training.

Db: there's hope after all just as I was reading your post the Sun
started to shine all is better now. Too bad it's dark gray all around this little patch of blue. Golly I may even go get the combine started for the first time since last fall. May get to use it one day next week...wonder if it's in the mood to work? I know my corn is 30+% wet and I haven't even given it an ECI hand job yet. Would be nice to capture the beans though.

You best shine her up w/ some of that super lube people are goin on about. You wouldn't want her to get a chapped pooter! How would you report THAT to workman's comp?

Didn't farming used to be fun?

I saw some shorts like that at Abercrombie and Finch for like 75 bucks a pair. That was before they closed their doors because of a slow down in the economy.

"Oh great and almighty editor is this better?"
