Jabber.....don't expect Ken to be "sharing" his dryer.

Verb....I didn't see any "hair" on that smiley....so what makes you think it's a girl. For your information, it's a smiley dude who has taken it up the wazoo without the Super Lube. That one in the front is ECI and the one in the back is his Dryer Gas Man..

We'll be muddin by 9:00. Wish me luck!

At least you guys have dryer capacity! This harvest is shaping up to have an even nastier kick to it than others, as the out of pocket cost to farmers is rising at a fast rate. Many of us small farmers with less than 500 acres rely on normal fall and commercial facilities. With 30%+ moisture corn they can not keep up and the lines are long and with drying costs north of .50 cents a bushel there is not much we can do. On top of that 2"+ rainfall every two or three days is making field conditions go from bad to worse. Sank the mighty Massey to the frame and dragging the ladder with the mud hog running trying to get some of the beans out before the last rain and the beans still were 16% moisture. I don't know how a big an area I am in but the crop quality and condition is deteriorating with each rain. Local coop tried to send out 15 rail cars of soybeans but they were rejected because of quality they had to unload them and try to reblend them so they could send them out again. There is no way this crop is getting larger it is getting smaller, and my mood is getting more sullen with each passing day.

ses,
How do you like the sun shade NOW??

Earlier it looked and the forecast indicated
that by 4 pm it would be the warmest, driest,
and breeziest time of day---but NOAA reported
clouds already moving into SW Nebrasska---
and at the time of the report, cloud cover was
actually over Rooks county---the center of the
world, well, my world It is NOW only 11:28 am

Dennis...pass the beer and lets play some cards....LOL

I really am concerned for all here in the midwest....things are going to start dropping off the edge with beans before to long...the corn is usually able to hold longer, but the new crap is not doing the best....the stalks are weak...

Most of mine is out but I know the pain.....

Just got in from the mudhole. Corn is still 26% - has been holding steady for 7 weeks. This is unreal. We hauled 8 semi loads to ADM...were about the only ones shelling corn.

One large operator was running with three combines with 24 row heads, pulling the semis out of the field with a big 4WD and blade....their new 8430s were completely brown, top to bottom, couldn't see one inch of paint on it. Had an end loader scraping dirt off the road as the trucks went out.

It's fricking muddy....one more inch and we're talking waiting on a freeze...and from the looks of it Mon - Fri we're going to maybe triple that amount. I'm rutting the heck out of this field..having trouble staying on the row in some parts of the field. At least the green POS kept running for 10 hours without a come apart.

We're still averaging around 215 dry......really need to be cutting beans...but can only do one thing at a time.....and time isn't on our side down here.

Already had our daily rain between 6:30 and 7:00 this morning. Neighbor broke his hand last week and his wife is pregnant so I'm going to go cut them a load of firewood. Nothing like getting out into the woods with a good chainsaw and a sharp chain.
