I've heard a few people mention a document sent to the EPA that says RR1 outyields RR2. Does anyone have the link to it. I'm having trouble finding it on the website

Tim you feelin ok? Can't believe you think farming sucks. What's wrong with having to scout around 10 square miles each morning to see if which of the fields are fime enough to drive on? It a great way to see the country and start the day? And just think of all the extra time you are getting to spend in that new shop when it is too wet too run. I bet you'll be installing a pool table in the corner before this season is out!

Ron, tracks are a good suggestion but money would be the limiting factor. Being the great guy that you are, I would be pleased to see you buy one and let me use it, gosh, I would be willing to pick it up!

Life is good!

bmart 99,

The F.I.R.S.T. Trials aren't all harvested yet, nor are the independent crop consultant plots.

I'm waiting to see how the beans compare in those plots before I come to any premature conclusions. You can access the Farmers Independent Research Trial results for your state using a Google search.

Have a safe harvest.

Hey Tim, glad we found your rotor, that standard works really good in this 25+ corn. We did shell a little that was 23.5. Yesterday was the pitts. Another injection line started leaking. Can you believe no one has any sealing washers? Miller equipment said they would have some on a stock order today. Went in to get them and they were not there. He checked. Said they have to have at least $500 for a stock order and Monday they only had $25. Said they would be in tomorrow. Went across the road and special ordered them from their competition. Cost a little extra but by tomorrow morning I went them dang little things running out of my ears. .8 last night, not even sure if we can run tomorrow. Up to 2 inches Friday. Maybe you better get your cart with an inboard and propeller.

Perspective is something we all need to be mindful of this harvest. Cases in point: One farmer friend has a wife with stage 3 colon cancer receiving chemo, radiation, and facing surgery, another farmer neighbors' wife recently discovered her inoperable cancer, and yet another has a son in a coma from a car accident over the week end. These guys all have many acres of crop to harvest and the burdens of these personal problems piled on top.
Yes, I'm discouraged about harvest delays but I have no problems compared to these fine people.

Be safe and keep the faith.

Got my ass soaked from 1-3 am last nite. I bet it rained more than an inch in that time. Dryed corn through the rain. Got into 21% corn late last nite. Thank god. Was drying 350 bu an hour. Harvesting 1200. Now I'm drying 500 and harvesting 0.

We are trying to figure how to get this crop out. Would you rather:

1) fill up everything we got and do maybe 40 acres a day 8-10k bu

2) buy an 84 foot auger, put 24% corn into 30k bin, then pull out as dryer can accomodate.

3) or empty barn of equipment, lay down tarp or plywood and fill the barn. pull out as dryer can accomodate.

preparing to hit panic button if heavy rain on friday.

The 30,000 bu bin sounds like a great idea, but then you lose it for dry storage. I did that last year with a 60 and wished I hadn't. The power went out a few different times and the corn started to set up before I could get it out.

The barn idea is probably the best answer money-wise but would suck to do the work. Remember to have some kind of air in the pile in case the corn is there longer than you plan.

At 40 acres a day you'll still finish long before us. We hope to get started before December 1.

Go Bison!

RCR , i use a 18 to 19 bin for wet , with two 20hp fans ,
It takes a sh-t load of air ! I was cleanin that wet bin out
today to the floor and we went to melt down in a box !
The corn is OK ,but it was the air that save'd the day
and it's pack'd in pretty good , Good luck Buckeye
and be carefull !

[br]Deep SI my a$$...it's rained all day in not so deep Southern Illinois....and the 10+" we've accumulated over the past three weeks is getting to the point of serious. We went from cleat marks to 6" deep to 8" deep...and now the bottom will probably be gone....with more on the way for mid-week.

DB51,

Yes I'm located in DEEP southern IL...just where exactly are u located?

We aren't leaving ruts in our fields. WE got our tractor and augerwagon stuck but thats cuz it had 500bu on it and our hired help didnt know he was driving through a natural spring. ( no MFWD on auger wagon tractor either)

If u look at a map of IL my farm is located about 5miles from the Ohio river up interstate24. Your prolly located on the northern side of the of the shawnee national forest in (as we like to call it) central IL.
