It’s a Cinch

Once bulk soybean seed bags are emptied, they seem useless. But actually they are ideal to organize our recycling efforts. In the corner of our machine shed, I’ve lined up a series of frames made from 1¼" square tube. The frames each hold one bulk seed bag, which is labeled for its recycling item. When they are full, it’s easy to cinch the top shut for transport and move the frames around with the fork lift.

No More Fighting the Flighting

When the flighting goes out on a grain auger, it can be a task to pull it back into position to be rewelded. I found the extra hand I needed by making a small adjustment to my Vise-Grip pliers. I welded a nut to an all-thread bolt, and then I welded one piece of a chain link to the top of the nut. The modified bolt replaces the Vise-Grip bolt. The pliers are attached to the flighting, and I use my winch to pull the flighting back into the correct position to be welded.
