RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication." RSS feeds are simple data formats that allow you to generate free content from on-line providers, such as AgWeb.com. Content includes headlines, summaries, blogs and links to full-text articles that appear on-line.

To begin using RSS, you need a special news reader or “aggregator” that displays RSS content feeds from websites like AgWeb.com. Numerous different news readers are available, most of which are free of charge. Some are also available as desktop software that you can download and install on your computer. Several Web-based news readers are available as well.

If you do not already have a news reader, click on either of the above links for a list of options. Select the news reader that’s right for you and follow simple installation instructions. Once you have set up your news reader, you simply select the RSS content feeds you want.

*Note that some browsers have RSS news readers built in, such as Internet Explorer 7.0 and Firefox. If you are using either of these browsers, no third-party tool is needed. Simply click on this icon in your address bar.

RSS is an easy way for you to be alerted when content that interests you appears on your favorite websites. Instead of visiting a particular website to browse for new articles and features, RSS automatically tells you when something new is posted to AgWeb.com.

Click on the section title link to obtain the RSS URL, which you will see in the "Address" field of your browser. Simply copy this URL and follow the instructions for your particular news reader to subscribe.

To sign up for RSS feeds from AgWeb.com, simply select the AgWeb.com section that interests you from the list at the top of this page. Click on the section and follow the instructions for your particular news reader to subscribe to RSS feeds.
