NWS 90-Day Forecast: Above-Normal Western Corn Belt Temps

9/17/2009

Pro Farmer Editors

Above-normal temperatures are forecast for the Oct.-Dec. period for much of the western half of the United States, including Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota and the Northern Plains, according to the latest extended weather outlook issued by the Climate Prediction Center today.

The 90-day outlook for precip, however, calls for equal chances of below-normal, above-normal or normal rainfall.

For the 30-day outlook (Oct.), the "equal chances" forecast applies to both temps and precip.
